“Sing praises to the Lord with the lyre, with the lyre and the sound of melody. With trumpets and the sound of the horn shout joyfully before the King, the Lord.” (Psalm 98:5-6)

Music is a language the Lord has given that all can speak. Do you make music for the Lord? Is the rhythm of your life such that it is a pleasing song to the Lord? Seek the way of the Lord and live in harmony with His will and way. Come then and be whom the Lord created you to be that you may live into the life to which you have been called, knowing that in Him is a life to come that cannot even be yet imagined.

Lord, I hear the words and sometimes even hear the music, but find that I have been born without the rhythm. Teach me to sing a new song. Teach me to live a live that is in harmony with You. Teach me to grow in the abilities You have given me that my life would become the song You created it to be, a song of praise to You whose work alone endures forever.

Holy Spirit, teacher of joy, guide my heart to be lifted up that I may now and always play the music of heaven. Teach me to be the instrument of Your love in this world. Guide me according to the Father’s will that I would now and always live as I have been created to live. Lift me into the upward path to do those things which are right and fitting as one becoming a child of the Heavenly Father. Amen.

“It is good to give thanks to the Lord and to sing praises to Your name, O Most High; to declare Your lovingkindness in the morning and Your faithfulness by night, with the ten-stringed lute and with the harp, with resounding music upon the lyre.” (Psalm 92:1-3)

You have given good gifts, Lord, and give them freely. May I learn from You to give praise and thanksgiving for all of Your goodness. Put praise on my lips and let the gifts You have given be freely used to praise and worship You in and through all things. You are faithful and worthy of all praise and honor. Guide me, O Lord, to learn to worship and praise You at all times.

Lord, I often think of worship as a routine and not as a part of my daily life. Lead me, O Lord, to learn that You have created me to live a life filled with praise and thanksgiving. Teach me to truly worship that I may spend all of my days the way You would have me spend them. Bring me to those places in Your Word where I may learn from You the purpose for which I have been created.

Holy Spirit, come and direct my thoughts and desires that I would live in thanksgiving for all of the goodness You bring. Put praise on my lips and guide kind words to issue from them. Fill my heart with the love You desire I have for all. May my life be a devotion to You and the wonder You have brought forth in creation. Guide me according to the Father’s will now and always. Amen.

“You will increase my greatness and comfort me again. I will also praise you with the harp for your faithfulness, O my God; I will sing praises to you with the lyre, O Holy One of Israel.” (Psalm 71:21-22)

Greatness is not wealth or power, but humbleness, peace and walking faithfully with the Lord. He frees us to be joyous in His creation and calls us to walk with Him all of our days. Come to the Lord and walk humbly with your God. Sing your praises and let your life be an instrument that makes music to the Lord. Learn to walk in the way of faithfulness and know that God is Your comfort.

Lord, the world beats me down and I am constantly barraged with the nonsense of this age. Clear my mind and set before me a path that I can walk which will bring me close to You. Clear my eyes to see the beauty of the earth and help me overcome the wiles of the wicked one. Set me free from the bondage of this age to be Your faithful servant, walking in the light of Your glory.

Lord Jesus, You have forever set me free from the bondage of death that sin brings, yet unrepentant sinners remain all around me. Help me focus my eyes to see in You the hope of glory that You have brought for those who love the Father through You. Guide me in the way of peace and illumine my footsteps to walk in the direction Your Spirit leads me. Help me learn from You faithfulness. Amen
