Devotion for Monday, October 1, 2018

“Sing to the Lord a new song; sing to the Lord, all the earth. Sing to the Lord, bless His name; proclaim good tidings of His salvation from day to day.” (Psalm 96:1-2)

The new song for the Lord is what you do with your life. You are a unique creation and there is no one like you. Please the Lord by living in His presence and walking with Him all of your days. Know that His grace and mercy will be with you if you walk humbly before Him. He is the One who has paved the way before you and will walk alongside you now and forever.

Lord, grant that I become bold in the salvation You have given me. Guide me according to Your goodness to walk in the way You have established. Lead me in Your salvation that I may now and always be in Your presence. May my life become a gift back to You for all that You are and all that You have done. You are the rock of my salvation and I seek to please You in all I do.

Holy Spirit, guide my heart to walk humbly this day in the presence of the Father. Lead me, Lord, that I would go where You direct. Keep the attitude of my heart firmly fixed upon Christ in all things that I may now and always live according to Your direction. May I walk boldly today and every day in the salvation I have in Christ and do what is pleasing in the Father’s sight. Amen.

Devotion for Wednesday, August 29, 2018

“Make us glad according to the days You have afflicted us, and the years we have seen evil. Let Your work appear to Your servants and Your majesty to their children. Let the favor of the Lord our God be upon us; and confirm for us the work of our hands; yes, confirm the work of our hands.” (Psalm 90:15-17)

The Lord is at work and as we look to the Lord, we can see that what He is promising is that all that we experience in this world that abides in wickedness will be seen for what it is. We shall know the purpose of our affliction and see clearly the goodness of the Lord. Come then and walk humbly before the One who has plans for you and will lead you all the days of your life.

Lord, I am sometimes overwhelmed with the circumstances of life. Help me, I pray, to see more clearly through the fog of this age. Guide me by the principles You have laid down from the beginning. May my life confirm the work of Your hands that I may remain faithful to You, the One who has done all these good things. Let Your favor rest upon Your humble servant.

Lord Jesus, You have provided the example of a faithful servant. You lived amongst us and provided the grace we need to navigate this world and its perils. Help me this day to see more clearly the way I need to go. Guide my thoughts to be thinking upon the goodness of the Father. Help me make wise and good choices in all that I do that my life may be a thank-offering to You. Amen.

Devotion for Monday, August 6, 2018

“I have found David My servant; with My holy oil I have anointed him, with whom My hand will be established; my arm also will strengthen him.”  (Psalm 89:20-21)

The Lord has appointed those whom He will use for His service.  It is as the Lord determines.  Do not fret over the appointments of the Lord, but walk humbly in His ways and be glad that He has given You His word.  Live into the hope of your salvation knowing that the Lord has accomplished it.  The Lord is merciful and kind, slow to anger and abounding in steadfast love.

Lord, lead me through the troubles that each day brings.  Guide me according to Your goodness to see the hope of glory that You give.  You will appoint whom You will appoint to positions of leadership.  Guide me in the way You would have me go and grant that I be content in whatever circumstance You grant me to live.  You are God and there is no other.  In You alone is there hope.

My God and my Savior, guide me to walk humbly with You this day knowing that all things are in Your hands.  Help me now and always to see in You the hope of glory You have provided through the grace and mercy that You purchased by Your blood shed for me.  Lead me to do those things which are pleasing in Your sight.  May I be faithful this day, being guided in Your Holy Spirit.  Amen.

Devotion for Saturday, March 17, 2018

For I was envious of the arrogant as I saw the prosperity of the wicked. For there are no pains in their death, and their body is fat.” (Psalm 73:3-4)

The wicked sometimes seem to prosper, but those are mere appearances. What is prosperity? Is it wealth gained with wrong motive and selling of the soul? Seek the way of the Lord. He will take you and make in you the image of Christ; for this is true prosperity. Do not envy the proud or the ones who seem to prosper. Look to the Lord and be content in what He provides, knowing that in Him is goodness.

Lord, you command me not to covet, but I do. I look around and see those who have what I do not. Guide my heart to be content with what You have given me, knowing that only in You is there joy and contentment. Lead me, O Lord, in the way You would have me go and guide me according to Your perfect goodness to be thankful for all that You have given me.

Lord Jesus, You showed indifference to the things of this world and instead took in the joy of each day. Guide me by Your example to walk as You walk and not to be excited about what tomorrow will bring. Lead me in the way of righteousness that I may walk humbly in the Father’s sight and do what You give me to do each and every day for the Father’s glory. Amen.
