“Sculptured in palace style; that our barns may be full, supplying all kinds of produce; that our sheep may bring forth thousands and ten thousands in our fields; that our oxen may be well laden; that there be no breaking in or going out; that there be no outcry in our streets. Happy are the people who are in such a state; happy are the people whose God is the Lord!” (Psalm 144:12b-15)
The Lord has provided such abundance and we have experienced a time where these things are true and yet the people are not happy. It is not the abundance of things that bring joy to people, but the Lord who is the provider of all things that brings joy, Come into the presence of the Lord and know the goodness of His grace and mercy that You may have the truly abundant life.
Lord, teach me that it is not what I have nor what I experience that determines who I am, but You who provides all things. Guide me, O Lord, in the way of everlasting life that I would now and forever abide in You as You abide in me. Guide me according to Your goodness to see that in You alone is the hope of all the ages. Lead me, O Lord, in the way of eternal life.
Lord Jesus, You are the way, truth and life. Lead me in the way You have established that I may now and always walk according to the Word You have given. Guide me day by day to live the life You have demonstrated that I may always abide in You and see made true the promise that You will abide in me. Guide me, O Lord, now and always to walk in Your example and experience the true abundance of eternal life. Amen.
