“The women are to keep silent in the churches; for they are not permitted to speak, but are to subject themselves, just as the Law also says.  If they desire to learn anything, let them ask their own husbands at home; for it is improper for a woman to speak in church.”  (1 Corinthians 14:34-35)

Well now, doesn’t this speak against what our society has become?  The legalists run with this and it become a battle point and place of confusion.  Meditate upon what the Lord is teaching us and come back to the place where we look to Him and see that each takes their own place in His kingdom.  By this, hear no word of legalistic wrangling.  The Lord calls whom He calls and for His purpose, be they male or female.  But in this, let no confusion enter into your midst.

Lord, what a battle there has been in the church over these things.  The wicked one enters and stirs the pot.  Lead me to see what You are doing and to celebrate what You are accomplishing.  Let me not be hindered by the words of men, but be encouraged, uplifted, and strengthened by the truth that You are saving all who turn to You.  Lead me, Lord, in the way I need to go.

Lord Jesus, the liberation of women would not have happened if You had not come and set the course in a different direction.  In You, there is neither male nor female.  Help me understand through the confusion of the wicked One that You are still Lord and still leading through the morass of this age.  Guide me to keep my eyes upon You now and always for the sake of Your kingdom.  Amen.
