“In everything, therefore, treat people the same way you want them to treat you, for this is the Law and the Prophets” (Matthew 7:12).

Do as you would be done by. Get out of your head and look at the other as equal to yourself. If the world would do just this, everything would change. But it does not. However, you are in the world, but not of the world. Do not live as one who lives for yourself but live as one who lives for the Lord. He is the author and finisher of your faith. Learn how to trust Him and love others.

Lord, I do this sometimes. Help me to move to the place where I really do care for others. Help me to have this attitude for my community and my nation. Especially in a time where even communities compete rather than cooperate, help all of Your faithful to learn to live in harmony and cooperate with one another.

Lord Jesus, You have had compassion upon us all. You ask that I learn how to treat others as I want to be treated. I often interpret that to mean that I want others to think like me. Lead me to respect all others around me as those for whom You died. Help me to get outside of myself and learn how to always care for others. Teach me the moderation I need so that I do this without sinning.  Amen.
